Dining Room

Welcome to the Dining Room

Think of this place as a year-round, all-you-can-eat buffet of goodness. This is meant to be a compilation of articles and resources that I have found interesting, and worth taking a look at for one reason or another. Come and be fed!

"Can't Miss" Websites

Lifestream.org
A true inspiration behind the meaning and passion of Ruined for Life. Wayne Jacobsen is a great brother and resource in truly moving outside of the box of organized religion and delving into relational Christianity.

The God Journey
A weekly radio webcast hosted by Brad Cummings and Wayne Jacobsen, downloadable in .mp3 format. Although only recently started, the conversations and topics are relevant, challenging, and a great thing to download to your .mp3 player.

Jake Colsen
Jake Colsen is the site for a book-in-progress, "So You Don't Want To Go to Church Anymore: The Memoirs of An Overjoyed Traveller." The book is almost finished, and is a conversational narrative between an over-churched pastor and (well, I'll let you find out). Great!

Brumme.com
The personal homepage of Andrew Brumme, a great brother and great friend. Many links to good sites, well-thought out articles and the occasional picture of me make this site a can't miss.

Stupid Church People
A thoroughly enjoyable, though slightly 'controversial' collection of ideas and opinions involving church life. It even has a podcast, which is worth checking out. Be sure to check out the comments of postings. :)

Grace Unzipped
The site of Eddie Fourie. Stellar example of a blog with quality content and healthy discussion taking place. Opened my eyes to the presence of many like-minded bloggers out there!

The Shovel
Jim Minker's site for digging through the religious guck and into some good conversations with Father. The extensive Q&A section is especially fun to poke around, and his quality posts keep me coming back, for one.

The Pilgrim Path
Jack Gray is a brother in New Zealand, and I have been blessed by the solid truth and leadings of the Spirit from his site. His personal testimony and articles are an encouragement in sharing the journey.

Good Reads (Articles)

"The Promise, Pitfalls, and Pursuit of Jesus-Brand Community" By Ken Wilson. This is a provoking article with some good insight into what authentic community in the body of Christ involves, and some of the pitfalls that can impair it along the way; although I think some of points are flawed, there is some good stuff.

"The Deepest Freedom" By Wayne Jacobsen. I consider this to be a foundational article with respect to really knowing the freedom God draws us to; it isn't about happy-go-lucky, peace-like-a-river cliches, but instead, a deep freedom from the "tyranny of self" and and the agendas we place on God and our lives.

Good Listening (Teaching)

Ruined for Life Audio Player: Teaching
Track 1: Graham Cooke: "What God Wants, He First Gives" I haven't listened to this yet, but it was recommended by a friend.
Track 2: Graham Cooke: "God Likes To Hide" I haven't listened to this either (see above).
